What is SEA?
The Student Education Association is the largest student organization on campus. We are the organization for ALL education majors and offer a variety of fantastic events. We have speakers at every meeting about issues that you may be concerned about as a future teacher, or just things that would be interesting to you. If you have a topic you would like to hear about please let us know. |
Why should I get involved with SEA?
SEA is a great resume builder. We offer workshops and conferences through IEA that enhance professional development. We have many volunteer opportunities and many other ways to be involved. As a member of SEA you will receive many helpful tools that will help you in your education at ISU and as you go in to the real world and become a teacher. While being a member of SEA, you also can earn Golden Apple points. The member that participates most in the organization each semester receives a special basket full of teacher goodies. There is also a scholarship that is offered through the Department of Education for an active member of SEA.
What can I be involved in as a SEA member?
As a member of SEA you can be involved in things such as Volunteering at a variety of places, Teacher Appreciation, workshops, committees that do check in at the meetings, fundraising committees, and even work on projects such as raffles for St. Judes. There is always something that can be done and somewhere that help is needed. |
